XChat is a standalone encrypted chat application launched by X Corp., owned by Elon Musk. The app will officially debut on the App Store (iOS) on April 23, 2026, with the Android version to follow shortly after.

Core Features & Selling Points

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)

All messages, calls, and shared files are protected with industry-leading end-to-end encryption. Only you and your intended recipients can read or access your communications, making interception or unauthorized access virtually impossible.

No Ads

The platform is completely free and contains zero advertisements, ensuring a clean, uninterrupted interface so you can focus entirely on your conversations without distractions.

No Tracking

XChat does not collect, store, or analyze your personal data or behavioral patterns. Your privacy is respected at every level, and your activity remains entirely anonymous to the service provider.

Disappearing Messages

Send time-sensitive messages that automatically delete after being read or after a set duration, perfect for private conversations that leave no digital trace.

Audio/Video Calls

Enjoy crystal-clear, encrypted voice and video calls with friends, family, or colleagues, whether one-on-one or in groups, all without compromising security.

Encrypted Group Chats

Create and participate in large group conversations where every message is encrypted, keeping discussions secure even in multi-user environments.

Secure File Sharing

Share photos, videos, documents, and other files with full encryption, ensuring that sensitive information never falls into the wrong hands.

Integrated with X Platform Accounts

Log in seamlessly using your existing X account and instantly connect with a potential network of over 500 million users, making it easier than ever to find and chat with your contacts.

Elon Musk’s long-term vision is to transform X into a “Super App”, similar to China’s WeChat. XChat is a critical step in this strategy—separating messaging from the main platform to create a dedicated, secure, and feature-rich communication tool. This move lays the groundwork for a complete social + communication + payment ecosystem within the X universe.

Chat with anyone on X in a private, focused space built for conversation. No ads. No tracking. Fully end-to-end encrypted.
