Sky: Children of the Light Update 35.0 Patch Notes and What Changed

Sky Update 35.0 arrives October 13, 2026 with the Arles Nest, Shared Memory Duets, cheaper dye, and fixes for the Winged Light and Daylight Prairie crashes.

Update 35.0 rolled out on October 13, 2026 for Sky: Children of the Light, and it's a quiet kind of patch. No new season banner, no massive gameplay overhaul. What you get instead is a permanent new home space, a way to build Shared Memories with other players, and a fix list that touches some of the most annoying bugs of the past few months. That last part matters more than it sounds.

The headline additions are the Arles Nest and Shared Memory Duets. Everything else is polish and repair, but the repairs are the kind players have been asking for since the summer. If you've been stuck staring at a Winged Light that won't move, or you've had the game crash on the Switch, this update is aimed at you.

What Update 35.0 Adds to Sky: Children of the Light

Two features define the patch: a new nest tied to the Dear Van Gogh area, and a collaborative twist on Shared Memories.

The Arles Nest opens a new portal in the Aviary Village Nesting area. You'll only see it if you already have a second nest unlocked, and it requires you to finish Season of Nesting Quest 2 and Dear Van Gogh Quest 3. There are three ways in: use the Starry Night's Mantle teleport, repeat the third Dear Van Gogh quest, or join a friend who's currently sitting in the Arles Nest through the Visit a Friend's Nest menu.

Shared Memory Duets change what a Shared Memory can be. Instead of only watching someone else's recording, you can now record your own reaction to an original Shared Memory, and the result becomes a joint creation. Both of you appear in the same moment. You start it by pressing the new Duets button inside the Shared Memory viewing menu.

Those two features are the reason the update exists. The rest is tuning.

Sky's Shared Memory Duets Turn Watching Into Playing Together

Shared Memories have always been a solo act. You walked up to a glowing record, watched someone's little performance, and moved on. Duets flip that into something closer to a duet on a stage.

The feature matters because Sky's whole pitch is connection without pressure, and Duets give shy players an easy way in. You don't need to be in a voice call or coordinate a time. You leave a reaction, and the other person finds it later. It's asynchronous, which is exactly what a game played across time zones needs.

There is one catch worth knowing before you get excited. A duet is built on top of the original memory, so the creator's space has to still exist for your version to make sense. If a memory is removed, your duet goes with it. Keep that in mind if you're planning a long-running collaboration.

The Arles Nest and How to Reach It in Sky

The Arles Nest sits inside the Dear Van Gogh area, which means it lives behind a collaboration event rather than the standard season track. That's worth flagging, because players who skipped the Van Gogh questline won't get the portal right away.

Once you're in, the nest acts like the other personal spaces in the game. You decorate it, you return to it, you invite friends. What's different is the location. Arles is a distinctly artistic corner of Sky, so the nest carries a different mood than the nest you build in Aviary Village.

If you want it fast, repeating the third Dear Van Gogh quest is the shortest route. The Starry Night's Mantle teleport is even quicker if you already own it. Just don't expect to skip the prerequisites; the game checks your quest progress before the portal appears.

Dye Costs Drop in Sky Update 35.0

Forging dye costs less than it did before October 13. The patch notes don't spell out the new numbers, but the direction is clear, and anyone who's been cycling through colors on a favorite cape will feel it.

This connects to a broader shift in how Sky handles customization. Colored light and the Dye Exchange Shop were both part of the October Radiance Event that ran from October 2 to 15, and the reduced forge cost makes that whole system friendlier to players who like to experiment. If you were rationing dye before, you have more room to play now.

Bug Fixes and Stability in Sky Update 35.0

This is where 35.0 earns its keep. The fixes span art, gameplay, localization, outfits, services, and the UI.

    • A frequent Switch crash in Orbit that could leave you stuck in Eden is gone.
    • A Winged Light in Isle of Dawn that trapped players after pickup is fixed.
    • A rare crash tied to creating content in Daylight Prairie is resolved.
    • An exploit that let players dodge Dark Dragon attacks with mannequin props is closed.
    • The Daily Quest for introducing the Oddball Outcast now completes even with Skip Cutscenes turned on.
    • Daily Quest status info no longer shows inconsistent states.
    • The Sleeping Merchant no longer snaps back to sleep right after you interact.
    • Plushies placed underwater stop floating into the sky.

There's also a batch of smaller repairs: a German translation error in a Forest Boneyard quest, a Star Pin dialogue typo, incorrect text on Creator Awards trophies, and clipping issues with the Moonlight Lotus Cushion and the Nature hair. The Van Gogh quests get their own fixes for disappearing brush strokes and improper cape display.

None of these are flashy. All of them are the kind of thing that quietly ruins a session, and clearing them out is the real value of a point update like this.

Sky Update 35.0 on Android and Mobile Performance

Android players get one concrete bonus: 23 achievements have been added on Google Play, matching the set that other platforms already had. If you like ticking boxes, that's a meaningful chunk of new goals.

Presence, the in-game social feature, receives both new animations and a performance pass. Emote animations now play for Spirits including the Bowing Medalist, Confetti Cousin, and Festival Spin Dancer. More importantly, Presence runs noticeably better on low-end devices, and Festival Tech gets the same treatment. Presence has also expanded into Hidden Forest, Golden Wasteland, and Vault of Knowledge.

The behavior around Presence is tidier too. Areas that auto-enable it no longer keep it on after you leave, and if you turned it on yourself, it stays on when you move between areas. The Friendship menu now shows a red dot on freshly unlocked level 1 emotes, which is a small thing that saves you from hunting through menus.

What's Next for Sky After Update 35.0

Update 35.0 is the runway for a busy October and November. Season of Pearl starts October 16 and runs through December 31, bringing the Old Angler and an ocean-themed tale. Days of Mischief 2026 begins October 23 and lasts until November 12, with the Cackling Crab, tiny witch Brigitta, and the return of the Broom Races.

There's also Sky's first in-game Community Goal. From October 23 to November 6, if Sky Kids collectively collect 250,000 "hugs" from the krill above the TGC Office rooftop, everyone gets a special memento. Those krill won't steal your Winged Light, so the only risk is getting launched into the air.

The takeaway is simple: this is a maintenance patch that happens to hand you a new nest and a new way to collaborate. So is 35.0 worth installing right away? If you've hit any of the bugs on the fix list, yes. If you play casually, it's still worth taking. The bug fixes alone will smooth out sessions that used to break, and the cheaper dye makes cosmetic tinkering less of a grind. Update to 35.0, then start saving for the Pearl season that lands three days later.
