Konami's popular sports simulator, eFootball, is gearing up for a unique collaboration with the universally loved manga series Captain Tsubasa. This event brings not just the characters from the manga, but a plethora of extras, including players having direct control of these characters and a host of prizes just for logging in.
Captain Tsubasa, while well-known globally, holds a special place in its home country, Japan. This long-standing football-centric manga narrates the story of the extraordinarily gifted Tsubasa Oozara, charting his journey from high school football to the international stage.
A significant aspect of the partnership between eFootball and Captain Tsubasa is an exclusive Time Attack event, featuring recognizable characters and a Captain Tsubasa-related artwork. Upon successful completion, players will obtain unique profile avatars among other rewards.
Included in this event is a Daily Bonus where players can experience penalty kicks with multiple manga characters, such as Tsubasa, Kojiro Jyuga, Hikaru Matsuyama and others. Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of Captain Tsubasa, also designed special crossover cards featuring real-world brand ambassadors for eFootball, including the likes of Lionel Messi, all drawn in his unique signature style. Players can acquire these crossover cards by participating in the several events scheduled throughout the collaborative period.
Captain Tsubasa is no stranger to the mobile platform. Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team remains thriving after more than seven years, proving the undying popularity of the series both locally and internationally, which has been in circulation intermittently since 1981.
Should this crossover compel fans to delve into the line of mobile games associated with the series, it's recommended to be well-informed ahead of time.
