AION 2 October 14 Update Patch Notes: Halloween Event and Class Fixes

AION 2 shipped its first big content drop since launch on October 14, 2026, and it covers more ground than a seasonal event usually does. The headline is the Trick or Treat Halloween event, but the same maintenance also opened server transfers, reworked how you buy Odyle Energy, and fixed long-standing bugs in two caster classes. The patch weighed in around 35 GB, which is large enough that you'll want to start the download well before you plan to play.

Whether this update matters to you depends on what you main. If you're stuck on a crowded server, the transfer shop changes are the reason to log in this week. If you play Sorcerer or Spiritmaster, your class finally got the fixes it needed. Everyone else gets a Halloween event with a genuinely useful reward shop.

The AION 2 Halloween Trick or Treat Event Runs Two Weeks

The event runs from after the October 13 maintenance until just before the November 3 maintenance in Pacific time. European players get the same window shifted to October 14 through November 4 in CET. The currency is the Halloween Pumpkin Coin, and there are three ways to earn it: attendance, event missions, and the coin merchant.

The attendance book sits in the in-game Attendance menu and pays 35 coins on most days, with 100 coins on days 7 and 14. That alone is enough for several shop entries, so log in even on days you don't plan to play.

Event missions live in a new Event tab under Season Missions. Most pay 25 coins for a single clear of an existing activity: hunting ten monsters in the Abyss, clearing a Transcendence Dungeon, finishing an Expedition Conquest, clearing the Ascension Trial, or finishing any Nightmare stage. The login mission pays 30 coins for logging in three times, and two simpler missions cover obtaining Unique Gear and using Scrolls. It's a checklist designed to overlap with what you already do, not extra chores.

The AION 2 Server Transfer Shop Changes Explained

This is the part of the patch that actually shifts how you play, and it's easy to overlook because it hides in merchant tabs.

• Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) and Soul Crystal (Bound) move from the Wind Breeze Merchants' Special tab to Substance Morph, then Special, then Wind Breeze Merchants.
• Odyle Energy (Bound) in the Wind Breeze Merchants' Special tab drops its weekly per-server limit of 16 entirely.
• The Odyle Energy per-character weekly limit climbs from 4 to 20.
• Lower Abyss Rift Stone goes on sale in the Special tab for two weeks.

The energy change is the one to pay attention to. Raising the per-character weekly cap from 4 to 20 turns Odyle Energy from a trickle into a steady supply, and removing the server-wide ceiling means you aren't competing with everyone else on your server for the same pool. If you've been blocked on progression because you couldn't farm enough energy, that wall just got much shorter. What does that mean in practice? Less waiting, more gearing.

Sorcerer and Spiritmaster Class Fixes in the AION 2 Patch

Both class entries in this patch are bug fixes, not reworks, but they fix problems that have annoyed players for weeks. The Sorcerer changes target elevation, which is a recurring source of frustration in terrain-heavy fights.

• Fire Wall: bonus damage now applies when there's an elevation difference in combat, and your Embers effect can no longer be overwritten by another player's stronger Embers.
• Cold Storm: bonus damage now applies across elevation differences, and your Frostbite effect is protected from being replaced by a stronger one from another player.
• Bittercold Wind: the Frost Cooldown Reduction effect now works correctly when elevation differs.
• Spiritmaster's Summon: Ancient Spirit now activates its skills properly when summoned at Level 15 or below.

The Embers and Frostbite protection is the quieter but more valuable fix. In group content, having your damage-over-time effect wiped out by a teammate's stronger version meant losing your own contribution without warning. That stops now. For Sorcerer players who fight on uneven ground, the elevation fixes mean your skills finally land for their full value.

Who Benefits Most From the October 14 AION 2 Update

Melee players get a mention here too. NC's notes frame the transfer and shop adjustments as part of a broader push to widen the roles and tactical options for melee classes in RvR combat, which lines up with the energy changes making it easier to gear and progress a frontline character.

• Server transfer shoppers benefit most, since the shop reshuffle and the two-week rift stone sale are time-limited.
• Sorcerer and Spiritmaster mains get direct fixes to skills they use every fight.
• New and returning players benefit from the higher Odyle Energy cap, which shortens the grind to catch up.

If you already had a comfortable energy surplus and play neither caster class, this patch is mostly a Halloween event for you. That isn't a complaint. The event rewards are worth grabbing regardless of your main.

Halloween Rewards Worth Farming in AION 2

The coin merchant appears in each town. Elyos find it in Verteron at the Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village; Asmodians find it in Altgard at Safe Haven and the Nornir Assembly. The shop mixes per-server and per-character limits, so check the fine print before you spend.

The Special Halloween Chest gives the Spooky Scary Skeleton skin and 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals, which makes it the top priority if you can only afford one purchase. The two consumables, Halloween Candy and Halloween Cookie, last five minutes and stack meaningful combat stats, so they're worth holding for a boss or a PvP push rather than sipping casually.

There's also a Candy Key system. Candy Key Fragments drop from Expedition and Transcendence Dungeons, and you craft them into Red, Yellow, or Blue keys through event Substance Morphs. Each key opens a candy in town and is limited to once per week per server. The Blue Candy hands out four Odyle Energy on top of Resurrection Spiritstones, which makes the blue route the best default if you're unsure which keys to chase.

AION 2 Mobile Performance and Download Notes

AION 2 is a full MMORPG, and a 35 GB patch isn't something to start on a slow connection the night before a raid. Clear storage space ahead of time, and download over Wi-Fi. On phones, expect the initial shader compilation to run long after the download finishes; the game will feel sluggish for the first session before it settles.

The transfer shop also deserves a careful look before you buy anything. These are account-bound items tied to your security settings, so read the per-server and per-character limits closely. A purchase you can't use on the character you wanted is a wasted week of savings.

If you play on a device that struggles with large open zones, dropping the graphics preset helps more during RvR than during dungeon content, where the player count is the real load. Keep an eye on free space if you also keep other large games installed.

Where the October 14 Update Leaves AION 2

For a first major post-launch update, this one plays it safe on content and aggressive on systems. The Halloween event is a standard seasonal loop, but the Odyle Energy changes and the class fixes do real work on the problems players complain about most. The 35 GB download is the only genuinely annoying part, and it's a one-time cost.

If you main a caster, log in this week. If you're thinking about transferring servers, the two-week rift stone sale and the shop reshuffle make now a better time than later. And if you just want the skeleton skin, the event gives you two weeks to earn the coins for it.
