Grindr

Grindr helps gay, bi, trans, queer, and curious people find local connections for conversations, friendships, dates, meetups, and community advice. It is designed for people who want to see others in their area or connect with locals while visiting another city. The app lets each user decide how much to share on their profile, which can make early conversations feel more comfortable. You can download Grindr to explore its local LGBTQ social network on an Android phone.

Grindr features

Find people nearby

Grindr shows profiles in a grid based on location, so you can see people around you without searching for a specific name. This is useful when you want to start a conversation locally or check who is active in your area. The nearby view can also help when you are looking for friends, dates, or people who know the local LGBTQ scene.

Chat and share private photos

You can message another person directly after finding a profile that interests you. Grindr also lets you share private photos and create photo albums. Album access is under your control, so you can grant access to a person and remove it later if needed.

Use tags and profile filters

Grindr lets you add interest tags to your own profile and look for people with shared interests. Filters can narrow the profile list by details such as online status, photos, position, and relationship status. As a result, you can spend less time scrolling through profiles that do not match what you are looking for.

Connect while traveling

When you visit a new city, Grindr can help you meet local LGBTQ people and begin a conversation before or during your trip. You can ask locals about venues, restaurants, bars, and events in the area. This makes the app useful for community connections as well as dating and chatting.

Manage your interactions

You can favorite profiles that you may want to find again later. If a conversation or profile makes you uncomfortable, Grindr lets you block that person or report users and content in the app. These controls help you decide who can continue interacting with you.

Grindr free access and paid plans

The standard Grindr experience includes profile browsing, messaging, tags, filters, and account controls. Grindr XTRA and Grindr Unlimited are paid subscriptions for users who want additional browsing and messaging options. Before choosing a plan, consider whether the extra filters and profile visibility controls match how often you use the app.

Grindr XTRA includes ad free browsing, more profiles in the grid, and additional filters. Grindr Unlimited adds further options, including unlimited profile browsing, Viewed Me access, Incognito Mode, and tools to unsend messages or photos. Incognito Mode allows you to browse profiles without appearing in their Viewed Me list.

Grindr Web for subscribers

Grindr Web is available to eligible subscribers and allows chatting and profile browsing through a web browser. It is an option for users who want to continue conversations away from their Android phone. Access to Grindr Web depends on the subscription features available with your account.

How to use Grindr on Android

Start by setting up a profile and choosing the details you want other people to see. Then browse nearby profiles, use filters when needed, and begin conversations at your own pace. The Grindr latest version may include the current set of profile and subscription options offered by the service.

1. Open Grindr and create your profile by adding the information, photos, and interest tags you choose to share.

2. Allow location access if you want the nearby grid to show people around your current area.

3. Browse profiles and use search filters to narrow the list by details that matter to you, such as online status or relationship status.

4. Open a profile and send a direct message when you want to start a conversation. You can share private photos or an album only when you choose.
